The Earth & the World
1Pe 4:1 Forasmuch then as Christ hath suffered for us in the flesh, arm yourselves likewise with the same mind: for he that hath suffered in the flesh hath ceased from sin; 1Pe 4:2That he no longer should live the rest of his time in the flesh to the lusts of men, but to the will of God. 1Pe 4:3For the time past of our life may suffice us to have wrought the will of the Gentiles, when we walked in lasciviousness, lusts, excess of wine, revellings, banquetings, and abominable idolatries: 1Pe 4:4Wherein they think it strange that ye run not with them to the same excess of riot, speaking evil of you: 1Pe 4:5Who shall give account to him that is ready to judge the quick and the dead.
The word ‘debauchery’ means, excessive indulgence in sex, alcohol, or drugs. synonyms: dissipation · dissoluteness · degeneracy · corruption. This affects the soul, spirit and body of a human being as well as the world corporately.
The breaking down of a generation does not take much at all. All it requires is freedom to do what anyone likes in excess. It is in society that we see the world displayed in its worst state of being. The word of God says that not one person is good. However, good was found in God and God transferred that goodness to us to bring us to repentance. In doing so, God isolated the world from the earth. Yet, God subjected the earth to the world and caused it to go into vanity. Vanity means death. This death comes in the form of a slow degeneration that takes place causing death to become painful. We see this form of death displayed in all forms of society as it eats away at human life by breaking down generations and by making them more wicked and evil than the previous generation. When Adam & Eve sinned, they died but not immediately. The process of death came into play slowly as their bodies degenerated (deteriorated) slowly over many years. As man continued on this earth, he denigrated (degraded, depreciated) the physical earth causing it to die slowly just like himself. Today, we see that the earth has been depleted of much of its resources and every living thing on earth and the earth itself is screaming out to stop this rape of the earth.
That is why the earth groans for the manifestation of the sons of God. Rom_8:19 For all creation is waiting eagerly for that future day when God will reveal who his children really are. 20. Against its will, all creation was subjected to God’s curse. But with eager hope, 21. the creation looks forward to the day when it will join God’s children in glorious freedom from death and decay. 22. For we know that all creation has been groaning as in the pains of childbirth right up to the present time.
When the sons of God are manifested then we will see the restoration of the earth and the world to suit God’s will. The thing about Christianity and the will of God is, it has nothing to do with this world. It has everything to do with the earth because there will be a new earth and heaven but not the same world. We must understand what the world means in context to the Kingdom of God and God’s righteousness. Once we understand this distinction, we will not seek this world but God’s will on this earth. The world is made up of people and demons who seek to do their own will in direct conflict to the will of God.
God on the other hand seeks to establish His will on earth as it is done in heaven and that is what the church must do while it is on earth. Various sons of God have been doing that through the ages since the birth of mankind. Now, the sons and daughters of God are in the Church. They need to manifest God’s will, glory and power and re-take the land and establish righteousness even if it is only in one small area of the earth. When many such local bodies holding the sons and daughters of God begin to manifest this will of God, you will see that the earth itself will stop groaning. The land itself will produce more and peace will prevail in the area or country where this is taking place. Regeneration is revival & prosperity. Revival is the coming back to life of the ones who have been lost to the world and its ways. The world sells debauchery and through that degeneration, causing the breaking down of generations. The evil one has successfully broken down families and countries with every imaginable sin and violence through debauchery. This brought God’s wrath to the world. During the flood in Noah’s time God destroyed the known world because debauchery had reached heights of unsustainability by the earth. The earth was not destroyed but man’s world was. He destroyed Sodom & Gomorrah for the same reason.
God’s solution to mankind’s debauchery is spiritual regeneration while man is still living on this earth in a flesh body. This is God’s way of regeneration and blessings to a race that is lost in its own world. Tit_3:5Not by works of righteousness which we have done, but according to his mercy He saved us, by the washing of regeneration, and renewing of the Holy Ghost. Once this is done and man is perfected on earth, he is taken to heaven for eternity. Therefore, God has given us the Spirit of regeneration through reconciliation.
2Co 5:17Therefore if any man be in Christ, he is a new creature: old things are passed away; behold, all things are become new. 2Co 5:18 And all things are of God, who hath reconciled us to himself by Jesus Christ, and hath given to us the ministry of reconciliation; 2Co 5:19To wit, that God was in Christ, reconciling the world unto himself, not imputing their trespasses unto them; and hath committed unto us the word of reconciliation. The whole idea of regeneration is to revive and establish a way of life that the earth can sustain. When the righteous rule, the earth is at peace. Pro_14:34Righteousness exalteth a nation: but sin is a reproach to any people.
The daily degradation of society has got the governments of this world in a spin. They are trying to throw everything at the world only to fail at their attempts to sort out the issues they have to face. Soon, the anti-Christ will come and provide a solution that will suit the needs of many. However, since evil is bigger than him he has become its victim as well. There is no worldly antidote for degeneration and debauchery. There is only one solution and that is Jesus Himself. His soon return will establish a Millennium of reign on earth when we will be able to witness and experience true Kingdom reign. While we are waiting for this to happen, our task is to reach a generation of people who are lost to this world. We also have to leave behind a legacy that will help sustain and win new ground for the future generations. How long will all this go on is any one’s guess. What is important to realise is, there is no escaping the fact that this world is s decaying and heading at incredible speed to destruction. Every form of society is breaking down rapidly. The media has seen to that by making information available on TV, the internet and radio of things that an unsaved society is incapable of sustaining physically or spiritually. The information download tickles the flesh because debauchery is about selling to the flesh. There is next to no good news when we turn on the TV or watch stuff on the internet. The world has gone haywire and people are doing what they like based on self justification. Society and mankind has lost its way because of whom they have not believed in (Jesus).
The word of God says; Joh 3:16For God so loved the world, that He gave His only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in Him should not perish, but have everlasting life. Joh 3:17For God sent not His Son into the world to condemn the world; but that the world through Him might be saved. We who have believed in Jesus have been saved while we were in this world and while we partook of the world and debauchery (sinners). The requirement of God’s will is to keep ourselves spotless from this world Jas_1:27Pure religion and undefiled before God and the Father is this, to visit the fatherless and widows in their affliction, and to keep himself unspotted from the world. To do this, we need the help of the Holy Spirit to teach us and keep us. The keeping of oneself from this world and its ways requires us to embrace God’s ways.
Dear friends, while we wait on the Lord for redemption to be perfected, let us keep ourselves from this world through the word, Spirit and the blood of Jesus. Let us also enjoy the earth and bring its value and goodness into our lives. All who respect the gift of God to mankind in giving us this earth to live in and a Universe to support the earth should walk in righteousness and bring this earth into its fullness. What a beautiful earth we live on. Our bodies have been made out of the soil of this earth and our bodies carry the water of this earth. We are part of this earth and when we respect this earth we respect ourselves. Even though we have been regenerated as spirit we are encased in an earthly body and we need to understand that God Himself is living on this earth through us by making our bodies His habitation.
