Kingdom of Power

Kingdom of Power

1Co 4:20For the kingdom of God is not in word, but in power.

All the Kingdoms of this world on earth and in the spiritual realm of darkness will be totally destroyed by the power of God’s kingdom. There are no two ways about this. It is a matter of the appointed time of God. The process of death to the enemy is already underway and has been going on for some time now. In the book of Daniel, God gives us an insight into the kingdoms of this world and the Kingdom of God. The insight is into how these kingdoms will be established, by whom and how they will clash before the Kingdom of His Son Jesus is established. Mat_11:12And from the days of John the Baptist until now the kingdom of heaven suffereth violence, and the violent take it by force. Added to this understanding are the prophetic revelations of the kingdoms of this world that have come and are even now upon the earth.

Dan 2:37  Thou, O king, art a king of kings: for the God of heaven hath given thee a kingdom, power, and strength, and glory. Thou art this head of gold. Dan 2:39And after thee shall arise another kingdom inferior to thee, and another third kingdom of brass, which shall bear rule over all the earth. Dan 2:40And the fourth kingdom shall be strong as iron: forasmuch as iron breaketh in pieces and subdueth all things: and as iron that breaketh all these, shall it break in pieces and bruise. Dan 2:41And whereas thou sawest the feet and toes, part of potters' clay, and part of iron, the kingdom shall be divided; but there shall be in it of the strength of the iron, forasmuch as thou sawest the iron mixed with miry clay. Dan 2:42And as the toes of the feet were part of iron, and part of clay, so the kingdom shall be partly strong, and partly broken.

Described to us are four earthly kingdoms that represent periods of time and individuals who will rule. The last kingdom is now and will be ruled by a mixture of governments. Dan 2:43  And whereas thou sawest iron mixed with miry clay, they shall mingle themselves with the seed of men: but they shall not cleave one to another, even as iron is not mixed with clay. My personal opinion is; the last days will be governed by a mixing of evil spirits with flesh like in the days of Noah when evil angels slept with the daughters of men and produced giants upon the earth. The seed of men mixing with evil seed is what produced strength in clay. Yet clay is much weaker than spirits. Clay represents earth of which we are made. Therefore, the last kingdom will be in the last days (which is our time) and will be strong and weak at the same time because of the mixing of strength and weakness but will not last for this very reason.

After this, the greatest Kingdom of all will be set up by Jesus which will destroy all the other kingdoms once and for all. Dan 2:44  And in the days of these kings shall the God of heaven set up a kingdom, which shall never be destroyed: and the kingdom shall not be left to other people, but it shall break in pieces and consume all these kingdoms, and it shall stand for ever. Those last days began with the advent of Jesus. Once Jesus came and destroyed all the works of the enemy on the cross, He proceeded to set up His kingdom using ordinary men such as us. Through His army of believers, He will break and smash every opposition to His rule and reign with a final conflict that will require His visit to earth one more time. Once we as the Church and Israel as the redeemed come into fullness, this event will take place on earth. In the mean time’ “occupy” is the motto of Christianity. Men and women all over the world who have heeded the call to go into all the world and preach the gospel have discovered that the need for sustaining power is incredibly important. Many have tried to operate without power only to discover great problems beset them and utter failure follow their efforts.

Power in every sense of the word is essential for effectiveness in spreading and maintaining the gospel. Many have discovered great power but have not been able to sustain it. I am seeking long lasting power to break the yoke of bondage and sustain that freedom. The true essence of power is that it is eternal. To keep it eternal, great faith is needed to stand in a dark and evil generation when evil abounds. Yet, grace is the power of God to battle sin and Holy Ghost power is the ability to stand as witnesses and as holy children of God in the face of evil temptations. Power is more than healing miracles. It is the exercise of the will of God against all things evil and the sustaining power in the midst of good to remain good and not be corrupted by the anointing like Lucifer. This is where the power of the blood of Jesus is most effective.  It is a balance in the midst of extremity concerning good and evil. Too much of either can destroy and so true power is encapsulated in the word to help us through the long hard journey of life.

Apostle Paul understood power in relation to demonstration of it. Hidden power did nothing for anybody except to be a potential. The trouble with dormant power is that it eventually dissipates. I have seen so many Christians start so well and show great potential only to fall away after some time because they have not understood real power. They may have equated it to something that they thought they would not have to do to sustain it. That it would always remain in every situation. The truth about power is that it has to be continually fed by a source of power. That source of power is Jesus the word. We must always demonstrate Jesus and then we will be able to demonstrate power in the true sense of power. Even the Holy Spirit always demonstrates Jesus and not Himself.

Power has many connotations and applications; we must be aware.

1.     The creative power of God to create

2.     The dunamis (explosive) power of God to achieve

3.     The power of the word to sustain

4.     The power of the Holy Spirit to make us witnesses of Christ

5.     The power of God to defeat satan.

6.     The power of the blood to give us access to God as pure vessels

7.     Resurrection power that raises the dead and much more….

Without power there is no life. Power is life and energy to anything that must have life. That power and life comes from God through Jesus. Once we understand these variations in power, we must seek the Holy Ghost to instruct us on how to use this power to achieve what God wants for us to achieve. Though natural life may be in a vessel, it is dormant till spiritual power motivates it and moves it into doing. That takes faith in the spiritual context. James speaks of being only hearers as opposed to doers. If you only hear and not do, then you have what is dormant faith. Dormant faith will not remain in a person for long unused. It will dissipate. In the last days, I believe there will be much power released through knowledge and revelation. This will in turn be released by many to achieve their gifting and calling. Yet, a word of caution to all concerned. Build your walk in this world based on God’s word to you and ensure that what you build will stand. Unlike the kingdoms of old, the kingdom of Jesus is an everlasting kingdom. Power was given on a temporary basis to each kingdom Rev 17:12And the ten horns which thou sawest are ten kings, which have received no kingdom as yet; but receive power as kings one hour with the beast. While their power was given temporarily to achieve their evil goals, God’s power to us has been given eternally to achieve what God wants us to achieve. Luk_24:49And, behold, I send the promise of my Father upon you: but tarry ye in the city of Jerusalem, until ye be endued with power from on high.  Luk_10:19  Behold, I give unto you power to tread on serpents and scorpions, and over all the power of the enemy: and nothing shall by any means hurt you. The giving of power by Jesus to ordinary human beings whom He now considers as sons and daughters of God far supercedes anything Creation has seen or understood. There is an inheritance that is crying out for us to take hold of our destiny and power to come alongside with the King of the new Kingdom of God on earth. Rom_8:19For the earnest expectation of the creature waiteth for the manifestation of the sons of God.

KINGDOM AND POWER ARE SYNONYMOUS

In all his scriptures and journeys, Apostle Paul is alluding to the presence and use of power. There is a presence of power as there is use of power. That demonstration is taking place more and more as people are calling upon God’s presence and display of power to come to the earth. As more is being released, we are seeing manifestly so the glory of God. Power must accompany every individual to fulfil their daily life and Christian outliving in a dark and evil generation. The temptations are many and the lack of disciplines in life along with the injustices of life all need an infusion of Godly power to submit to us. We are the rulers and authorities on earth and must behave as such within the context of earthy law and existence, biding our time for the fulfilment of prophecy that Jesus will come back and set up His kingdom on earth. Since it has been prophesied, it will surely come to pass.

The days are upon us and we can see the need for Jesus to return soon. Let us pray for power in the meantime and go for the application of it in our daily lives by faith.                                                                                                           “GO POWER”

Lots of love
